Profile & History
Acceptance and Change University (ACU) was established as the School of Clinical Psychology to address the growing need for qualified mental health practitioners in Somalia. The university offers bachelor's degrees, master's programs, skills training, and professional diplomas grounded in third-wave behavioral therapies including ACT, DBT, and CFT. From its founding, ACU has been committed to bridging the gap between emerging psychological science and the practical training needs of aspiring clinicians.
Management Board / Senate
The governance of ACU is overseen by the University Senate, which provides academic leadership, sets institutional policy, and ensures the highest standards of education and professional practice across all faculties and programs.
University Senate
There shall be a Senate of the University which shall consist of: · The Vice-Chancellor, who shall be the Chairman; · The Deputy Vice-Chancellor; · The principal of each constituent college; · The Deans of the faculties, institutes and schools; · The Chairman of the teaching departments of the University; · The Librarian; · The professors of the University; · Any other members as may be provided for in the statutes.
